I guess today’s just one of those days…days that start with a jerk like a car’s carburator gone berserk. My daughter woke me up complaining of an earache. This after waking up in the middle of the night and crying uncontrollably. She claims she didn’t have a bad dream at all. She just wanted me to read a book to her like we always do. The online book we listened to before we called it a nights didn’t seem to have the same effect on her. I read stories better, so she says.
After a breakfast of porridge and brewed coffee, and after checking my e-mail, Zoe and I homeschool for the day. It’s not as easy as you think. For one, there’s a toddler who can interrupt any second. He would somehow escape from the room and rush to me at breakneck speed asking for milk. Then my daughter would sometimes lose her focus, play with some of her small toys, or escape to join her brother in the other room. At this point I try my best not to lose my patience.
Two kids, one household to manage, pending work online, and a business to run. I wonder if it’s too much for me to handle all at the same time. At the end of the day I realize I keep myself busy doing everything but I end up having done nothing. It’s frustrating to say the least, and I wonder if something’s gotta give. But then again, tomorrow’s another day.
